Happiness

Rob and Patti

This photo was taken right after Rob's graduation. I love this because what you see in my Aunt Patti's face is not pride, but rather happiness. Pure, selfless happiness. I'm sure when she sits down and thinks about it, she is proud of herself on some level for raising Rob, but most of her thoughts and emotions about Rob are captured in this picture. She is simply happy for him. He worked so hard and achieved so much. Though he could not have done any of it without her, she thinks only of his happiness. This, to me, is what it means to be a mother.

Thanks, Lucas. I appreciate the compliments. I'm using a Canon Digital Rebel that was an extremely generous gift from my mother for my birthday last April. Some people don't like the kit lens, but I find that it works well for me. I also have a canon zoom 85-300 in the bag (another gift), as well as a variety of filters, a small tripod, and a nifty wireless remote.
