George

This is my friend George. He's crazy, but in that really smart, one tragic childhood event away from becoming the unabomber sort of way. I love him to death. He's in his 30s and that really bothers him, but the great thing about George is that while he's concerned about aging and does all the normal, dominant culture things (gets tatoos to mark the transition, buys Rogaine when he's not shaving his head, etc.), he's also smart enough and self-reflective enough to be self-critical and funny about the whole thing. Thus, George teaches me that ambiguity and complexity are crucial components of a creative life, and that's why I like George. Now if only his wife would let him out of the house more...
