Some things in this world just give you hope. This is a picture from Vanderbilt's 10th annual Drag Show last Friday in honor of National Coming Out Month. And I tell you this, if 400 people can show up for a drag show at Vanderbilt, who only started admitting women and minorities in a few years ago, then there is hope for this world. It was a good show with good music. I made it extra credit for my students to attend, so it was nice to see some of them completely moved out of their comfort zone. My friend from India went with me...and stuffed a dollar down one of the performer's pants. It's amazing to me just how much she has changed in the past 3 years.
